I receieved this in FOW last night (it's blue)

Accursed Staff of Protection Prayers
6-10 dmg (Req 13 Death Magic)
Highly Salvagable
+1 to Protection Prayers (10%)

i saved it no doubt

Is this as bad as I think it is?

It has a HUGE requirement for the lack of damage
it has a terrible mod on it so I can't even use the "highly salvagable" aspect

I received a gold composite bow 15-28, req 11.

Get this... it has dmg +14% always and health regen -1.

Edit - Indeed the drops down there are terrible. I went to UW last night for the first time in months and all i got to show for my efforts was a 13-24 stormbow, which i salvaged and some dust.
I got something like 100 gold total profit (after paying my share for entry) for around an hour spent in there.
Totally pathetic.

Running around in ascalon for ten minutes gets way more profit!

Not being the most familiar with necromancers but are soul reaping skills non-existent? lol

I do believe that item was a collectors item.

Anyway..Me and my guild went down into UW and opened up two chests between all 8 of us and we all only got purples.Which is weird considering ANET said they raised the chance of getting gold.

That is a collectors item (from Droknar's), and no - there are no Soul Reaping skills

Use a standard salavage kit and you will get like 38 planks of wood.

My saddest drop was a max damage gold dragon sword. When I id'd it it had only 1 mod:

+16% damage vs plants

I think it can be safely concluded from this thread that the devs seriously need to fix how mods spawn on items.

Best thing to do: take all crap mods out of the game, period.

Only put good, worthwhile mods on every item.

@Those who will argue it's subjective: no it's not. Everyone including the devs knows what the good mods are and what the crap mods are.

I always go troll hunting with my mes/necro char

I agree with Navaros...+xx% against random stupid mobs should be illegal.

I always thought the gold holy staff of charr slaying in ascalon was great.

5-6 damage (req. 3 protection)
improves skill recharge 10% (While using domination)
improves casting speed 11% (While using curses)
Damage +12% vs Charr

Someday, if I can I will be a Mo/Me/N.

There is a mesmer offhand with 20/20 for fast casting skills, ALTHOUGH there is only 1 skill to that attribute, an elite -_- .

Granted the items with mixed attribute requirements/mods are goofy (especially that last one); let's have a little leniancy though people! If they gave every warrior in the game a gold furious dragon sword of defense with max mods just for talking to Warmaster Tydus, it wouldn't make it all that special if you got one, say, for killing Glint, would it? Oh gee, I just got rocked and all I got was this lousy sword that everyone already has. Guess I'll go sell it to the Merchant for 1 gold. Basic economics - if you only see one every 50 hours of game play, it makes it that much more valuable!

Actually, it's worse than a really bad drop, it's a collector's item. It wasn't the fault of a random loot generator, Anet intentionally made a collector offer that item. :P

I went to UW 2 times yesterday, and got 4 ectos, 3 eternal shields (gold, purple and white) a purple eternal bow and a gold hammer. My party members also got several good items. Someone even called this the best drop run he'd ever seen.

Not only that, but the skill's a stance, so the Fast Cast mod's worthless. Fast Cast for Fast Cast...I thought that was pointless enough.

Oh man I knew I should have kept that not max dmg axe with no other bonus than a max dmg upgrade against Plants taht I dropped in Perdition Rock times ago.

I think each player got his ubber crappy loot taht you think impossible to beat till you beat it ! ^_^
